Dr. Anil Gupta, MD, FRCPC, FCCS, FACC, FESC

Dr. Gupta is a Staff Cardiologist at Trillium Health Partners and One Heart Care, a Lecturer at the University of Toronto and a member of the teaching staff at its Mississauga Academy of Medicine, and a researcher at Trillium’s Institute for Better Health. At Stem he guides the development of the cardiovascular program, helps shape the protocols behind its cardiology diagnostics, and practises as a cardiologist.

At Trillium he has served as Medical Director of the Coronary Care Unit and Clinical Cardiology, Innovation Lead for the Cardiac Program, and Physician Lead for Cardiac Rehabilitation and Diagnostic Services, as well as President of its Medical Staff Association and a member of its Board of Directors. At the University of Toronto’s Mississauga Academy he has been the undergraduate lead for cardiology, and he founded and co-chairs Trillium’s Smoking Cessation Program.

Nationally, he sits on the Board of the Canadian Cardiovascular Society, chairs its Continuing Professional Development Committee, and serves on the scientific planning committee for the Canadian Cardiovascular Congress and the executive of the Canadian Heart Failure Society. He co-authored the Society’s first smoking cessation practice update and has helped shape national guidance on hypertension and as a panelist on its peripheral artery disease, antiplatelet therapy, and fitness-to-drive consensus documents. Beyond medicine, he consults for Basketball Canada and Tennis Canada, where he helped manage the National Bank Open during the pandemic, and serves on Telefilm Canada’s Talent Fund.
